Why going to a tropical island during a storm is a good idea.  I guess it depends on how alive you want to feel. The sensation of pushing limites and connecting with nature is out of this world..

Recently my best friend Elizabeth Charley and I emaked on adventure to find sunshine, heading up North to Queenslands Great Barrier Reef. We set out for Great Keppel Island, catching a ferry across for a few days of island life. We were seeking coconuts, blue skies, palm trees and sunburnt noses. Well Mother Nature delivered something else: thunder, rain and extreme overcast heat. The wind was blaring then would change to silky glass offs within half an hour!

Man o man I didn’t want to leave the energy on the island was exhilarating- wet tent and all!

Paddle boarding in crystal clear ocean over reef while a thunderstorm rolled in is something I won’t be forget in in a hurry. Hiking to the highest point of the island while getting drenched and nearly blown away is an adventure on its own!

Lesson learnt : Appreciate greatness, power and the strength of mother nature.
